My Journey to Now

This is the story of my journey to now. I will take you back and tell you of a time when I was imprisoned in the corporate world with an 'employee mentality'. I did not know what Network Marketing was and that it had the ability to allow me the freedom to own my life.

The Good Life

My story begins in the 80's. I was like so many others in that I thought that having a 'good' job was all that was needed to have a good life. I was making good money, got to party almost every weekend, had the best seats at all of the concerts when they came to town, in short, I was living what I thought was the good life.

In 1986, I moved from Cleveland to Atlanta where I started slow but soon got the swing of things and was working in no time. Eventually I landed a 'job' at the major soft drink company here in Atlanta and thought that I 'had it made'. I guess you could say that I, like everyone else there, thought that this would last forever. I soon met the woman who would eventually become my wife and everything seemed to be falling into place.

Trouble on the Horizon

In 1995, things began to change. First, the department I worked in lost their contract right before Christmas. I survived that and stayed around for a few years, even got a couple promotions until things started going bad in the company. It all hit the fan for me when we discovered that our companies' stocks had dropped from about $65.00 a share to $9.00 in about a two week period. We were further outraged to find out that the top 3 people in the company just happened to withdraw 'ALL' OF THEIR STOCK OPTIONS days before the crash! Our CEO was let go for poorly managing the company, but given a 4.3 Million Dollar contract buyout! Six months later, I lost my job.

Real Estate, My First Taste of Network Marketing

After I lost my job, I was so bitter that I knew that I never wanted to work another 'traditional' job again. I, did not, however, know how to insure that this could be made possible. One night i was watching late night T.V. when I saw my first Real Estate infomercial. Right then I made a decision that this was my way out! They kept talking about how you could grow a huge business and increase your net worth by hundreds of thousands of dollars with 'NO MONEY DOWN'! I was hooked.

I sent them my money for the course and dove right into it as soon as it arrived. What I didn't know and would only find out later is that the course required some 'additional' training at a substantial additional cost. Now here I am, 4 months later, haven't bought a single property, losing the apartment we were living in, my wife mad at me, and nothing to show for my efforts except loss and failure. Now, I was more determined than ever to learn how this Network Marketing thing worked because I don't like losing and this had become personal.
